DNCC Open Thread

I'm in the Big Tent and it is buzzing. Dinner has been served, the free beer is flowing and we're watching Jack Reed speak to the convention on CSPAN.

Bill Clinton will be speaking at 9pm EDT, followed a few speeches later by John Kerry which, apparently, is a speech that should not be missed as he is expected to really go after McCain.

Are you watching?

The question is, though, will the networks actually cover Kerry's speech or will they feature 10 people offering their opinion about Bill Clinton's speech? I know CSPAN has the actual convention, but I figure that 99% of people who care are flipping between the networks.

That's been something greatly annoying, just completely blowing off 90% of the speakers. Governors, Senators, men and women alike... All get cast aside in favor of some guy who wrote a couple of low-selling books or wrote a few speeches for Al Gore.

Re: DNCC Open Thread (none / 0)

I'm listening on MSNBC as I am getting my school room ready for the year.
On another note, I just checked Drudge (glutton for punishment, I know) and he has above the fold...

MCCAIN HAS DECIDED ON HIS RUNNING MATE... DEVELOPING...

along with a picture of McSame (don't go there, just take my word for it).  Anyway, could McSame be stupid enough to announce tonight or tommorow?  It would dominate zero news cycles!  We all know that he was going to announce Friday, so this "alert" can't be for that.  Maybe we just got another gift.

Re: William Jefferson Clinton.. (2.00 / 1)

I was a little disappointed by the music choice.

I was rooting for "Guess who's back" by Eminem.

Re: DNCC Open Thread (none / 0)

Damn...they did not have any TV when thousands of us marched 3.5 miles in support of the IVAW...

It was an amazing exercise in non-violence.
At the very end..with around 2 dozen IVAW facing arrest for CD..if their petition was not accepted.
and around 300 of us some 20 yards behind them willing to
do the same. ..and a bunch of police with spray stuff surrounding us..Obama's Veteran liaison agreed to accept the petition...
No arrests..no provocations...

I will probably write something on it tomorrow..
but just a fucking amazing experience...

Peace Out!
