MCCAIN VP LEAKED IN AD??? CLUES POINT TO LIEBERMAN!

While watching a youtube video I noticed this John McCain ad on the page.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Was this ad leaked? It cleearly indicates that Joe Lieberman is part of McCain's "team."

Does this mean that Joe Lieberman will be McCain's VP or am I just crazy?

If only we could help make this happen... e-mails to the McCain camp claiming to be unhappy dems or indies?

This would be finely wrapped gift...

We might win 40 states - and the House and Senate races?  Ensign might start crying.

Alas, though, I doubt the hand of fate loves us that much.

Right there with you... Lieberman would be a gift from heaven.... a traitor that will fire up Democrats even more AND a Pro-Choice "Libural" that the Far Right Wingers will abandon McCain over.    Their base will be depress, the convention will be a disaster and this becomes a blow out.

Joe Lieberman is not Zell Miller (none / 0)

Joe Lieberman is a pathetic old mule with no charisma. He shows no fire. He just stands behind McCain and corrects him.

Lieberman would be a catastrophe for McCain. And all possible matchup polls show a McCain-Lieberman ticket to be a disaster.

That said, I'd love to see a real floor fight at the GOP convention if Lieberman is picked.

It would be the ultimate gamble (none / 0)

I think McCain/Lieberman could win the votes of many Clinton Democrats, but it might split the Republican Party in two.  And as you observe, there is a chance that the Repub delegates reject Lieberman on the floor vote, which would end McCain's candidacy.

Re: I'd go much further (none / 0)

Well, that's a relief.

By the way, McCain includes things in his platform that are antithetical to everything Clinton believes in.  He won't make our health care better, he wants to make abortion illegal, and unless you're very rich he's not going to help your tax bill like Obama will.  Are you sure Lieberman's going to help that?

Just to let you know (none / 0)

I agree with McCain and Lieberman fully on foreign policy.  I feel that Bush was too dovish.

Obama is much better than McCain on domestic policy, while McCain is much better than Obama, IMO, on foreign policy.  Lieberman is perfect.

The difference for me right now is Joe Biden.

Re: Just to let you know (none / 0)

Is it worth throwing away the rest for the privilege  of being Israel's tool? How many wars do you want to fight in, anyway?

Let's see... McCain on foreign policy...

He thinks Czechoslovakia is still a country.  He has said that several times.

He doesn't know the difference between Sunni and Shia.

He thinks Iran is training Al-Qaida.

He had the brillance of coming up with "we are all Georgians".  Had he been president, that would have thrown gasoline on the smouldering fire of a regional conflict.

He wants to expand NATO into an area rife with ethnic and religious conflict.

He thinks we should be in Iraq for (if not 100 years, like he said) then at least much longer than.. well, almost everyone but Bush.  I might point out that for the price of the war we could have put solar panels on every roof in the country long ago.

He supports our military by undermining our troops, denying them adequate health care and education benefits.

We need a draft.
We should stay in Iraq as long as we need to, not only to fix Iraq, but to deal with Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.
We should have bombed Iran a long time ago.
We should have stood by Georgia and committed troops if need be.  Putin is evil.
We should have committed troops to Sudan to fight Darfur.
We should no longer give Saudi Arabia and Pakistan a pass, and go after them militarily if need be.
We should have boycotted the Chinese Olympics and made it clear that we will not put up with their shit.

Yup, Bush is way too dovish for me.

Re: I believe (2.00 / 1)

I believe...

That we are going broke.

That we cannot fight across the entire world.

That we are barely holding peace in two wars, and a third would be a disaster.

That the world will watch us burn and consider it just desserts if we get into another war.

That Europe must be forced into defending themselves.

That we do no help for anyone in the world if we lose military, political and economic power.

That Putin benefits far more from us using up military might (and borrowing from China and Russia to pay for it?!?!?!).

That Putin is expecting us to make a move.

That Putin knows John McCain lacks the political and international leverage to provide a credible threat.

Just so many other things. My primary question is, HOW CAN WE AFFORD ALL THIS SHIT?!

Not only that, but if you think that muslim extremists aren't absolutely DYING for us to attack Iran, you're nuts. They are just waiting for us to make our move so they can make theirs. And if we piss Russia off to the point that they won't support us, that's what is truly scary.

The only way you win a war is to pick your battles and pick your retreats. That is the lesson neoconservatives never remember.

I think it became pretty obvious that Romney was out of the running once they started running those Biden ads. Of course, if this is all a head fake and they do in fact choose Romney, we then know for sure they are the most incapable campaign in human history.

I don't think he will choose Hutchison because she is pro choice and does not support the overturning of Roe vs. Wade. Republicans will go nuts if she is the VP nominee, not to mention it looks like she is gearing up for running for TX Governor. Pawlenty will be a safe choice and the choice everyone thought McCain will make since day one of McCain's campaign.

Re: MCCAIN VP LEAKED IN AD??? (none / 0)

The GOP nominee-in-waiting will move to immediately change the campaign conversation from Barack Obama's football stadium acceptance speech Thursday to the new Republican ticket, to be revealed at a noontime Friday rally in a Dayton, Ohio, basketball arena. McCain and his running mate will then travel by bus to Pennsylvania, where they'll hold an outdoor event at a minor league baseball stadium in Washington County, just southwest of Pittsburgh. On Sunday, the duo will head to suburban St. Louis for another event to be held at a minor league baseball stadium, this one in O'Fallon, Mo.

Actually, according to Politico, there is NOTHING on Saurday.  The rally at noon in Dayton on Friday, then (presumably Friday evening) in SW PA (this is only a couple hours on I-70 by bus).  The next scheduled stop is SUNDAY in MO.  That gives plenty of time to travel by plane either Friday night or Sunday morning and do nothing on Saturday.

Re: MCCAIN VP LEAKED IN AD??? (none / 0)

I'm sure that the ad is simply targeted at independents, wavering Dems, and the few people out there who respect Lieberman.  He can't pick Joe, the Republicans will freak.  It also seems unlikely to me that he would pick a woman, for the same reason  My guess would be one of the safe choices - Pawlenty, Romney, or some no name from VA/OH.
