Jerome And I Are In The Hall

We just entered the blogger section in the hall. It's freakin sweet, great seats, up and to stage right. Thanks to the guys at DemConWatch for tipping me off to the existence of this area. They're not exactly advertising it. There's ethernet set up for us although no power source. I have a full battery so we'll see how long it lasts.

We entered as my senator, Barbara Boxer, was speaking -- she recalled her line to Sen. Inhofe that "elections have consequences." She rocks. You can follow her on Twitter HERE.

Our great women senators are speaking. Maria Cantwell got a crazy ovation from the Washington delegation.

Who's watching?

Update [2008-8-26 19:28:44 by Todd Beeton]:The sort of amusingly literal music choices continue as "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves" plays as the senators all stand on the stage together.

Update [2008-8-26 20:45:5 by Todd Beeton]:DemConWatch link fixed.

Re: Jerome And I Are In The Hall (2.00 / 2)

It reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer calls a Missing Child Hotline and the hold music is "Baby Come Back".

Entertaining stuff tonight!

Let's just hope they have no control over the Boss's setlist Thursday...

I mean - they're great songs - but we'll end up with the Ghost of Tom Joad, Johnny 99 or something!

Re: Jerome And I Are In The Hall (none / 0)

Headline on the HuffPost was that the Boss will not make an appearance this time around.

Hmmm...

rumors seem to be swirling...

I bet the cat just got out of the bag before they wanted it to get out.

I'm betting we'll be getting some Boss.

Who hired the 'Hillary for You and Me' band? (none / 0)

Seriously, were they all out of DJ's?

I'm all for unity, but that song sucked.

Rendell (2.00 / 2)

brought a 2X4 tonight...

This is a pretty good rip by Ed - who, frankly, has some make up work to do for his foot-in-mouthedness of the last couple days.

There are speakers that can swing the lumber and those that can't... it appears that Ed is the kind that can.

Re: Rendell (2.00 / 1)

God, I thought he was going to pull a Howard Dean yell at the end. That would have been so fantastic.

Re: Rendell (2.00 / 1)

My thoughts... Exactly.

I actually added a yeaaarghhh myself at the end, because it just seemed to fit, but alas, nobody heard me.

Re: Rendell (2.00 / 2)

You know what I'd love to see?

Howard Dean on the 11/8 MTP... or FTN... or whatever...

Big ol' smirk on his face, after we increase our majority... get our 60 senate seats... and win 40 states...

"and we WON VIRGINA... AND NORTH CAROLINA... AND NEVADA.... AND COLORADO....YEAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!"

Re: Jerome And I Are In The Hall (none / 0)

I think it's a hidden chromosome in all big city mayors (even those that grow up to be governors)...

Daley's got the same thing - while I've very much got a love/hate relationship with M., I've got to admit that I will miss his press conferences something awful when he finally decides to retire.

On a pure entertainment level, there's nothing quite as amusing as an irked or excited old school machine mayor.

Tell Matt Stoller about this area... he was complaining about the seating on Openleft.

Someone should lower Anna Burger's mic just a tiny bit.
